Hayden Sheridan enters his second season with the UNLV men's basketball program in 2026-27 and his first as an assistant coach after being promoted during the summer of 2026. Sheridan originally joined the Runnin' Rebels in April 2025 as Director of Strategy and Analytics.
In his first season at UNLV, Sheridan played an important role in scouting, game preparation and analytics, helping guide the Runnin' Rebels to an 18-17 overall record, an 11-9 mark in Mountain West play and a berth in the 2026 National Invitation Tournament, where the team advanced to the second round.
Working alongside head coach Josh Pastner and the UNLV coaching staff, Sheridan helped support a program that integrated 13 newcomers and overcame significant injuries to record four Quad 1 victories. The Runnin' Rebels earned notable road wins at Memphis, Stanford, Utah State, Boise State and UC Irvine, while completing regular-season sweeps of four Mountain West opponents, including Utah State and Boise State.
UNLV also emerged as one of the Mountain West's top offensive teams, averaging nearly 79 points per game and leading the conference in 3-point field-goal percentage during league play at 39.0%. The Runnin' Rebels also led the Mountain West in blocked shots and saw several players earn individual conference recognition, including Mountain West Newcomer of the Year and First-Team All-Mountain West selection Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn and Mountain West All-Defensive Team honoree Tyrin Jones.
Prior to joining UNLV, Sheridan spent seven seasons at Georgia Tech as the Yellow Jackets' director of scouting and video coordinator. In that role, he oversaw the program's video operations, managing the collection and analysis of game footage to support opponent scouting, game preparation and the evaluation of prospective student-athletes.
Sheridan also managed the team's technology needs and helped oversee the program's student managers, playing an important role in the daily operations and preparation of the basketball program.
Before assuming his role as director of scouting and video coordinator, Sheridan spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Georgia Tech.
He also gained experience at the professional basketball level, working as an NBA Draft assistant for BDA Sports.
