Biography
Rebel Notes: Joined the UNLV squad in the 2005 spring semester.
2006-07 (Junior): Was part of the first-place 200-yard medley team at the MWC ... took fourth with a time of 2:04.11 in the 200 IM, also finishing fourth in the 100 breast, clocking a time of 1:05.35 ... a member of the runner-up 400-yard medley relay team.
2005-06 (Sophomore): Claimed runner-up honors in the 200 IM in a time of 2:03.55, and also took fourth in the 200 breast (2:17.62) and fifth in the 100 breast (1:04.29) ... swam breast on the second place 200 medley relay and on the third place 400 medley relay.
2004-05 (Freshman): Made an immediate impact on the Rebels after joining midway through the season ... won the 2005 MWC 200 breast title in time of 2:17.31, the second-best mark in school history ... also placed sixth in the 100 breast (1:04.81) and seventh in the 200 IM (2:07.50).
High School: Swam five years at Fairmont High ... during high school career, set records in 25 and 50 breast, 50 free, 50 fly and 100 and 200 IMs ... was a South African nationals finalist four of five years and short course relay team medalist ... also won two events at the Western Province ... FINA World Cup Finalist in 2003 ... won a total of eight gold medals during her final three years in South Africa in the age group championships.
Personal: Kim Dale Bonney ... born on Feb. 11, 1986, in Johannesburg, South Africa ... daughter of Gary and Su Bonney ... both parents were South African swimming captains, and mother was a national record-holder as well ... has one brother, Duncan (13) ... uncle Richard Bonney swam for SMU from 1969-72 ... volunteered at the Cricket World Cup `03 ... majoring in accounting.
