    Women's Volleyball Volunteer Assistant Coach
Amber Brooks-Lefevers enters her first year as a volunteer assistant coach with the UNLV volleyball program. Brooks-Lefevers comes to UNLV after serving as the head varsity volleyball coach at The Emery/Weiner School in Houston, Texas in 2013. She led the Lady Jags to a second-place finish in TAPPS District 4-4A play en route to a district title and a berth in the TAPPS 4A State Tournament. She mentored Sarah Friedman, a 2014 graduate of The Emery/Weiner School, to all-state and all-district first team honors as a senior. Friedman would become the first student-athlete in the school[apos]s history to sign a NCAA Division I scholarship (Southeastern Louisiana). Prior to coaching at the high school level, Brooks-Lefevers served as a master coach for the Texas Tornados (July 2009-July 2012) and the Fort Bend Fire (July 2012-July 2014) volleyball clubs. She also served as the assistant camp director with the former team and the assistant skills director with the latter squad. As a collegiate player, she led the University of Texas-Brownsville to an NAIA national championship in 2011 behind a 32-2 overall record. The Ocelots finished first in the Red River Athletic Conference with a perfect 9-0 mark. Individually, she led the nation in aces and took home all-conference first team honors as well as being tabbed as the league[apos]s setter of the year. Prior to her one season in Brownsville, she attended the University of Texas at San Antonio (2008-09) and the University of Houston (2010). She earned her bachelor[apos]s of science degree in kinesiology with a minor in health and nutrition from Houston in 2013. Brooks-Lefevers and her husband Robert Lefevers III, a captain in the United States Air Force, reside in Las Vegas.
