Deja Harris

The UNLV volleyball team brought back former assistant coach Deja Harris as the team’s Director of Technology and Analytics, the team announced during the spring 2024 season.

"Deja’s commitment to helping our program in any way she can will provide a huge competitive advantage for the 2024 season. Not only is she a talented coach but she has also become an elite coder.  As the Director of Technology and Analytics, Deja will be instrumental in scouting opponents and assessing our team’s performance.”

Harris is now in her third position since joining the program in 2021. A Las Vegas native, Harris took a large part in helping the team reach postseason play after the Mountain West Tournament for the sixth-straight season. The Scarlet & Gray finished the season 19-13 and were invited to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) after earning the no. 3 seed in the conference tournament.

As the Director of Technology and Analytics, Harris will be in charge of the team’s digital media. She’ll take over the program’s video operations, editing duties and coding in match. Harris’ duties will continue to help the team in match and pre match preparation, practice organization and off-season training programs. Harris has a great eye for statistics and this will elevate UNLV’s ability to continue to make history.

As a player, Harris was the first four-time All-Mountain West honoree for San Diego State, finishing her collegiate career as the program’s all-time leader in block assists (484) while ranking fourth with 317 career-blocks and eighth in hitting percentage (.322). After her collegiate career, she played professionally overseas in Halmstad, Sweden as part of the A1 League. She would also take part in the 2018 USA Collegiate National Team and the Women’s College National Team that same year.
