Georgia Blanks Women's Tennis Team

March 30, 1999

ATHENS, Ga. - Third-ranked Georgia had little trouble shutting out the unranked UNLV women's tennis team 9-0 at the Henry Field Courts Tuesday.

The Lady Rebels fell to 3-12 while the Lady Bulldogs improved to 15-1 and earned UGA head coach Jeff Wallace his 299th career victory.

UNLV did not win a set in losing all six singles matches to a Georgia lineup that featured five ranked players. The closest the Lady Rebels came to a point was at the second doubles spot where Lady Bulldogs Kelly Baskin and Christa Grey won a tie-breaker 8-6 to down Veronica Goude and Marianne Bakken 9-8.

UNLV finishes its spring break trip with a match at Vanderbilt Thursday.
