Senior catcher Julie Crandall (San Jose, Calif.) was awarded Second Team All-WAC accolades, as announced Tuesday by the Western Athletic Conference. This is the fourth consecutive year that Crandall has garnered all-conference honors, earning First Team All-WAC in 1997.
Crandall led the Rebels in a number of categories in the 1998 season, including batting average (.361), home runs (9), slugging percentage (.592) and base on balls (33). She ranks second in UNLV annals in home runs with 20, and is first in walks with 111. Crandall was also found throughout the WAC rankings in a number of categories during the season and was awarded WAC Player of the Week honors on April 6. She ended her UNLV career last weekend in the Rebels' sweep of New Mexico, hitting a home run in her last collegiate at bat.
