SCOUTING BOISE STATE: The Broncos head into the weekend series with a 20-26 overall record and a 6-10 MW record. Boise State have lost three straight games including the two-game series over the weekend against Grand Canyon. The Broncos played a midweek non-conference game on Tuesday, April 14 against Idaho State and fell 5-3. Sophia Romero leads the Broncos' offense batting a combined .333. Marissa Gonzalez is the home run leader with nine and ranks second on the squad in batting average (.328) and RBI (35). Skylar Stroh is the RBI leader with 37. Loula-Rae McNamara leads the Boise State pitching staff with a 3.12 ERA through her 35 appearances. McNamara has a record of 8-5 through 92.0 innings of work and four saves on the season.

LAST TIME ON THE FIELD: The UNLV softball team earned a 12-8 victory over Utah State in the two-game Mountain West series finale on Sunday afternoon at Eller Media Stadium. The Rebels won both games against the Aggies for their second series sweep of the week.
Charelle Aki and
Diamond Sefe each hit a combined .429 (3-for-7) for the series. Aki had a home run, two walks, two RBI and crossed the plate once. Sefe had two RBI, a walk, crossed the plate three times and was hit by a pitch. For the two-game series,
Lauren Fettic made two appearances in the circle, pitching a combined 6.0 innings. She earned the win on Saturday and collected a save on Sunday. Fettic had an ERA of 1.17 and held her the Aggies to only bat .240. She only allowed one earned run in her combined six innings. For the series against the Aggies,
Yanina Sherwood made two appearances including a start and earned the win in the finale.

NEXT SERIES: The Rebels will continue on the road and next visit Grand Canyon for three games beginning on Friday, April 24 and concluding on Sunday, April 26. UNLV and GCU will open the weekend series on Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m. PT.

UNLV brings back
Charelle Aki,
Bri Williams and
Maddie Scott who were among the top seven hitters from last season. Aki batted a .311 with five doubles, three home runs and 19 RBI. Williams posted a .262 batting average with three doubles, four home runs and 15 RBI. Scott played all 49 games and started 43 and batted a .223 with five doubles, team-high three triples and 10 RBI.

LAST YEAR: The Rebels had an overall record of 24-25 and a 7-15 Mountain West record. Four Rebels collected All-Mountain West honors.
Ariana Martinez picked up All-MW first team,
Jesse Farrell was named All-MW second team and
Karmyna Becerra and
Yanina Sherwood earned All-MW honorable mention.
