Keyannah Chavez and freshman
Lauren Fettic have earned NFCA Division I All-Region honors, the organization announced today.
Keyannah Chavez and
Lauren Fettic were picked to the NFCA All-West Region third team. The All-West Region includes players from universities in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada and Utah.
The award honors softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2026 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
Chavez led the Rebels with a .421 batting average which ranked 69th in the nation and third in the Mountain West. She also led the squad in hits (64), doubles (16) and on-base percentage (.521). Her on-base percentage ranked 48th in the nation and second in the conference. Additionally, her 16 doubles ranked 62nd in the D1 rankings and was third in the league. Chavez was second on the squad in RBI (37) and slugging percentage (.651). She picked up All-Mountain West first team honors. This All-West Region honor marks the first of her career.
Fettic is the first UNLV freshman pitcher to be selected to an All-West Region squad since 2019. Fettic led the Scarlet & Gray pitching staff with a 14-9 overall record and a 3.35 ERA. In 36 appearances, Fettic started 23 games and pitched seven complete games including a career-high game of 9.0 innings against Grand Canyon on April 24 en route to a 4-3 victory. Through her 36 appearances, Fettic has pitched 142.0 innings and struck out 90. She was named the 2026 Mountain West Pitcher of the Year, marking the first Rebel pitcher in nearly two decades to collect the accolade. This marks the first All-West Region honor for Fettic.
The 2026 NFCA Division I All-America teams, voted on by the NFCA DI All-American Committee, will be announced at a later date.
