ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - UNLV won all five completed singles matches to down Colorado State 5-0 in the semifinals of the consolation draw of the 1999 WAC Women's Tennis Championship at Tanoan Country Club Friday.
The Lady Rebels, ranked 75th, improved to 8-14 overall and 4-3 in the WAC after earning their fifth victory in the last six matches.
Winning for UNLV - all in straight sets -- were Katarina Malec, Veronica Goude, Marianne Bakken, Britta Gabl and Marcella Valkenhoff. Doubles play was cancelled.
The Lady Rebels will play SMU in Saturday's consolation finals. The Mustangs were 5-4 winners over Utah. The finals in the main draw will feature top-seeded Fresno State vs. second-seeded New Mexico.
