LAS VEGAS - The 42nd-ranked UNLV men's tennis team posted a 7-0 whitewash of 61st-ranked New Mexico State in the final round of the 19th Annual Spring Invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Sunday.
The Rebels, who won their own tournament for the fourth consecutive season, improved to 3-2 while the Aggies fell to 3-2.
UNLV began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point. The Rebels then took all six singles matches, including three three-setters.
Winning for UNLV were 34th-ranked Asaf Tishler, Nenad Zivkovic, Damu Bobb, Danny Erez, Gregor Skorin and Andy Madersbacher.
In doubles, Zivkovic teamed with Bobb at the No. 1 spot, Tishler and Skorin took the point at No. 2 and Tyler Roberts won with Erez at the third position.
In other tournament action, 54th-ranked Michigan State nipped Northeast Louisiana 4-3, to earn third place, Nevada, Reno got by Utah State 4-3 to capture fifth and Northern Arizona defeated Weber State 5-1 to take seventh place.
