Ilia Snitari has been named the Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Snitari, a native of Moldova, is now 16-1 on the season and 24-1 as a Rebel after going a combined 6-0 singles and doubles over the weekend.
Playing at the No. 1 spot in singles, he notched straight-set wins over the top player from UC Riverside, New Mexico State and Weber State. He and doubles partner
Arda Karakas also won a trio of matches at the top position as the Rebels improved to 4-1 in the young season.
Snitari, an All-American who is ranked 35th in the nation, was last season's MW Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. This marks his second Player of the Week nod from the league.
The Rebels are off this week until traveling to face USC on February 8.
