ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Senior Asaf Tishler won his 15th-consecutive singles match to lead the 65th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team to a 4-3 road upset of 37th-ranked New Mexico at the Lobo Tennis Club Sunday.

The Rebels, who have won three straight, improved to 9-8 and 3-2 in the WAC while the Lobos finished their regular season 15-7.

For the second day in a row, UNLV had to fight back after losing doubles play. Tishler and Gregor Skorin won in the second position 8-4 but UNM took the other two spots for the team point.

In singles, Tishler, ranked 31st and playing at the top position, downed 65th-ranked Pepe Caballero 6-1, 6-1. Tishler, who last lost on January 23, has dropped only one set during the streak as he raised his overall record to 19-5.

Also winning for the Rebels, all in straight sets, were Nenad Zivkovic, Gregor Skorin and Andy Madersbacher, who clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Brent Salazer at the sixth spot.

UNLV closes out its regular season with a match at 72nd-ranked San Diego on Saturday. The WAC tournament is slated for April 21-24 at San Diego State.
