CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The 42nd-ranked UNLV men's tennis team lost the decisive doubles point and fell 4-3 to 52nd-ranked Clemson in the first round of the annual HEB Team Invitational Friday.
The Tigers began the day by taking two of three doubles matches for one team point and held on to split the six singles matches.
UNLV fell to 3-3 on the year while Clemson improved to 5-1.
Rebels Asaf Tishler, Damu Bobb and Andy Madersbacher all won in straight sets while Tishler and Gregor Skorin teamed for UNLV's only doubles victory.
UNLV moves into Saturday's losers' bracket at the three-day event.
