ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Nenad Zivkovic won in three sets as the 65th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team rallied to down 31st-ranked Tulsa 4-3 on the campus of the University of New Mexico Saturday.
With the team match tied at three, Zivkovic came from one set down to win 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 over Joel McGregor at the second position.
The Rebels evened their record at 8-8 and 2-2 in the WAC while the Golden Hurricance fell to 11-8 overall.
Tulsa began the day by taking two of three doubles matches for one team point. UNLV's only victory came at the second position where Asaf Tishler and Gregor Skorin downed the McGregor brothers, Joel and Dane, 8-5.
In singles play, UNLV won the showdown at the top spot where Tishler, ranked 31st, cruised past 27th-ranked Gareth Williams 6-1, 6-2. Tishler has now won 14 consecutive matches this spring to raise his record to 18-5 overall.
Victories by UNLV's Gregor Skorin and Andy Madersbacher then tied things at three and set up Zivkovic's heroics.
The Rebels play at 37th-ranked New Mexico on Sunday.
