LAS VEGAS - The 36th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team lost its eighth consecutive match, 7-2 to No. 3 Duke at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Monday.
The Lady Rebels (3-8) extended the match to doubles by taking two of six singles points. Winning for UNLV were seniors Lisa Annebro in three sets and Marie Linusson in straight sets at the five and six spots respectively.
The Blue Devils (11-1), however, swept doubles play, including the top spot where second-ranked Vanessa Webb and Karen Goldstein won 8-2 over 13th-ranked Susie Kocsis and Gee Gee Garvin.
UNLV next takes on No. 34 Indiana Friday at 1:30 p.m.
Duke faces No. 10 BYU Tuesday on the UNLV campus.
