LAS VEGAS - The UNLV golf team is ranked fourth in the final fall edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings.
Clemson occupies the top spot with 344 votes, Georgia is second at 321 and Houston is third at 309. The Rebels are fourth with 297, while Oklahoma State rounds out the top five at 290.
Individually, David Gossett of Texas is ranked first in the nation with 312 votes, followed by Charles Howell of Oklahoma State at 266 and Bryce Molder of Georgia Tech at 263. UNLV junior Jeremy Anderson is ranked fourth at 247, while Edward Loar of Oklahoma State is fifth at 246.
UNLV most recently captured the title of the GolfWorld Collegiate Invitational on Nov. 8 to close out the fall season, while Anderson won the Savane College All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas, on Nov. 24.
The team will open up the spring season on Feb. 11 at the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate in Hawai'i.
