SANTA ANA PUEBLO, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) – A pair of wins gave UNLV the lead with six points after Tuesday's opening rounds of NB3 Match Play at Twin Warriors Golf Club (Par 72, 6,200 yards).
The Rebels started the action with a 3-2 win over New Mexico in the morning. That first-round victory included individual triumphs from senior
Trevor Lewis (2&1) over Johnnie Clark, senior
Wyatt Plattner (1Up) over Emil Albers and junior
Ryan Abuan (3&2) over Mesa Falleur.
In the afternoon tilt, the Scarlet & Gray solidified another 3-2 result vs. New Mexico State. Finishing 2-0 on the day were Lewis (2Up) with a win over Javier Delgadillo and Abuan (4&3) with a victory over Max Chan. Junior
Zach Little (2Up) topped NMSU's Anthony Lara to wrap up the second round.
LEADERBOARD: Right behind UNLV are UNM and NMSU tied for second with five points and Oregon in fourth with four points.
