Three Rebels Named All-America Scholars

This marks the ninth time in the last 10 years the Rebels have placed multiple golfers on the prestigious academic list

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Three UNLV men's golfers – Ryan Abuan, Trevor Lewis and Wyatt Plattner – have been named 2025-26 Cobalt Golf NCAA Division I All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Monday. This marks the ninth time in the last 10 years that multiple Rebel student-athletes have earned the prestigious academic award.

Lewis (Computer Science) was a third-time honoree, while Plattner received the honor for the second time. Abuan (Interdisciplinary Studies) made the list for the first time. 

Additionally, the Rebel trio received Spring 2026 Academic All-Mountain West Team recognition.

A total of 649 Division I student-athletes from 210 schools were named 2025-6 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars.
To be eligible, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
