LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's golf program has received a signed commitment from local product Avery Lazarski to join the Rebels for the 2026-27 season, head coach Andres Gonzales announced Friday.
"Avery is a very talented player," said Gonzales. "Growing up in Las Vegas, he was exposed to the history of UNLV golf, and our program provides a great opportunity to advance his golf career to new heights. We welcome him with open arms and are excited about the depth he will bring to our team. As a Las Vegas native, we feel he's home where he belongs and we can't wait to see his development here."
A Bishop Gorman High School graduate, Lazarski transfers from St. Mary's, where he played two seasons and was a 2024-25 All-WCC Team honorable mention. He holds a 72.16 career scoring average, four top-10 finishes, as well as career lows (par-72 course) of 7-under 65 for a single round (2025 WCC Championship) and 9-under 207 (2025 WCC Championship) for a tournament.
Lazarski most recently wrapped up the 2025-26 campaign at the NCAA Marana Regional with the Gaels. His participation in the team's lineup followed a year that saw him post career bests for a single season with three top-10 finishes and seven top-25 efforts.
During his prep career at BGHS, Lazarski was a First Team All-Southern Nevada League selection his final three seasons. Additionally, he helped lead the Gaels to the 2023 5A state team title, won the individual regional championship in 2023 and claimed back-to-back wins at the Las Vegas City Amateur (2023-24).
