UNLV POST-GAME QUOTES:
JASON THOMAS
On playing with his foot injury: "It felt good to just be out there. I felt kind of sloppy with my individual performance but we got the win and that's all that matters."
"My foot is good. It's a little sore but it was good for it to get banged and bruised a little and get back into rehab tomorrow."
On winning as the favorite: "Before the game coach Robinson was concerned that we wouldn't play as well as favorites. He told us that we needed to learn to win the games we are suppose to win."
On the offense: "I thought we did good. We weren't hitting on all cylinders by any means, but anytime your offense scores 42 points you did alright."
On Keyshawn Johnson's statement that he is a legitimate QB: "I didn't even know that he said that. Being a LA guy it's just great to be around him. It is good to be surrounded by guys that have been there. That's what is so great about what coach Robinson brings to this team."
UNLV HEAD COACH JOHN ROBINSON
On the win: "This was a good one. It was one I was worried about. We are not experienced as a team with being the favorites. I was concerned that we would get distracted by that."
"It was easy early and then it got tougher and we had to deal with a quarterback change. We came out in the second half and responded to what we had to."
On Jason Thomas: "It was very important that Jason fight to get ready to play, whether or not he played in the game. Mentally, he needed the process of fighting to get back."
"He's learning. It was his first experience with this, but he came back and that impressed me. He'll have to do it many times throughout his career."
WYOMING HEAD COACH VIC KOENNING On RB Nate Scott: "Nate is blessed with good speed and he's maturing with every game. This was the first game he got to play in front of his mother and I think that worked as an extra motivating factor."
On UNLV: "They are a fine team with tremendous athletes. It is amazing how quickly they got as good as they are. There are many times tonight we got out athleted.
On Thursday's ESPN game at BYU: "We've to go out there with the same intensity as we had tonight. It will be a challenge for us to only have four days to prepare, but it might actually work out better for. We usually only get one practice either late or early on Wednesday, but this week we will use both. We'll see how it goes."
