LAS VEGAS - UNLV has received a national letter of intent from the top-ranked girls' player in the state of Hawaii, Lady Rebel head coach Kevin Cory announced Tuesday.
Tracie Chong, a senior at Iolani High School in Honolulu, will be a freshman at UNLV next August.
"I am excited to announce the signing of Tracie Chong," Cory said. "Tracie has been ranked in the top 50 in the country and was very highly recruited out of high school. She is the type of student-athlete that every coach hopes to land. Tracie, who is also a top student, brings an all-court game to UNLV and will be a factor in our lineup right away."
Cory, who is in his second year leading UNLV, led the program to its first-ever conference championship last season.
