LOS GATOS, Calif. - The 60th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team swept singles play and defeated unranked San Jose State 6-0 in a non-conference match at the Los Gatos Tennis Club Thursday.
The Lady Rebels improved to 5-3 while the Spartans fell to 4-3.
At the top spot, 26th-ranked Katarin Malec moved to 20-5 overall this season after a 6-0, 6-0 whitewashing of Anna Nordell. Malec, a senior, is now 7-1 in dual matches.
Also winning for UNLV were Veronica Goude, Marianne Bakken, Urska Radanovic, Michaela Gabl, Amy Hadziosmanovic.
Doubles play was cancelled because of rain.
UNLV closes out its three-match California swing by traveling to Palo Alto Friday to take on undefeated and No. 1-ranked Stanford Friday.
