MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The UNLV men's tennis team rebounded from losing the doubles point and defeated Virginia Tech, 4-1, at the Blue-Gray Tennis Classic Saturday.
The Rebels broke a four-match losing streak to improve to 5-11.
The Hokies began the day by winning two of three doubles matches for one point.
In singles play, Vladimir Pavicevic won over Davor Dupljak, 6-4, 6-1. Nenad Zivkovic won, 6-2, 6-0, over Gerard Baynham, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 2. Gregor Skorin defeated Saber Kadiri, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 and the match was clinched at No. 6 where Robbie Parlade downed Andrew Vu, 7-6, 6-1. The remaining matches were halted.
UNLV will face Mountain West Conference rival Utah on March 24.
