Ilia Snitari moved up 48 spots to No. 35 in the nation in the newest ITA Collegiate Men's Tennis Rankings, which were released Tuesday.
The native of Kishinev, Moldova, was listed at No. 83 to start his second season in August but has since compiled a 12-1 tournament record, including winning two rounds at the NCAA Singles Championship earlier this month to earn the program's first All-America honor since 2002.
It is the highest a UNLV men's player has been ranked since Christopher Bulus came in at No. 31 on Feb. 24, 2022.
Last year, Snitari became just the second player in history to be named both Mountain West Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the same season. He finished with an 8-0 overall record, including going undefeated in league play at the top of the lineup.
