LAS VEGAS - The 71st-ranked UNLV women's tennis team lost only one set en route to a 9-0 victory over unranked Boston College at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Sunday.
The Lady Rebels improved to 9-7overall, including 8-2 at home this spring.
At the No. 1 spot, 41st-ranked Katarina Malec of UNLV won her seventh straight, 6-0, 6-4, over Cindy Tow to move to 27-5 overall. Also winning for UNLV were Veronica Goude, Marianne Bakken, Urska Radanovic, Michaela Gabl and Amy Hadziosmanovic.
The Lady Rebels also swept doubles play, led by the 36th-ranked team of Malec and Bakken winning at the top spot to move to 17-3 this season. Michaela Gabl and older sister Britta Gabl teamed for a victory at No. 2 and Goude and Radanovic won at the third position.
UNLV continues its nine-match homestand with a match vs. Oregon on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
