Hutchinson Ranks Third Nationally

April 16, 2000

WALNUT, Calif. - Senior sprinter Ayanna Hutchinson improved her best time in the 100 meters Sunday, clocking an 11.28 to finish second among NCAA competition at the Mt. SAC Relays.

The mark is a personal best for Hutchinson, who now ranks third on the NCAA's 2000 Performances list. It ranks her second on UNLV's all-time list, behind school-record holder Alicia Tyson.

Hutchinson, benefiting from enhanced competition at the Mt. SAC meet, also posted a personal best in the 200 meters, finishing in 23.66. She ranks fifth nationally in that event.

Sophomore Michele Davis also competed for UNLV at the meet. Davis finished third in the University Division in the 400 meters with a time of 54.14.

Both Hutchinson and Davis have already provisionally qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
