LAS VEGAS - The 72nd-ranked UNLV women's tennis team played its first match in three weeks and did not lose a singles point en route to a 7-2 victory over Wyoming as part of Senior Day at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Tuesday.

The Lady Rebels improved to 12-9 overall, 9-4 at home and 2-3 in the Mountain West Conference. The Cowgirls fell to 8-11.

UNLV's two outgoing seniors, who were playing their final regular-season matches, both earned milestone victories. Playing at No. 2, Veronica Goude won career match number 79 to move all alone into third place at the school and, playing at No. 1, Katarina Malec won her 12th straight to tie Jolene Watanabe for fourth-most single-season victories with 32. Malec, a native of Warsaw, Poland, now sits just five back of Marianne Vallin's school record, which was set in 1994.

Also winning in singles were Marianne Bakken, Urska Radanovic, Britta Gabl and Amy Hadziosmanovic.

In doubles play, Malec teamed with Bakken at the top spot to win the 20th-ranked duo's 12th straight. The pair boasts a 19-1 record in dual matches this spring and has not lost since Feb. 25. Wyoming won the Nos. 2-3 doubles matches for its only points.

The fourth-seeded Lady Rebels open as hosts of the inaugural Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Championships by taking on fifth-seed Utah Thursday at 10 a.m.
