Softball Swept By San Diego State

SAN DIEGO - The UNLV Rebel softball team dropped a two game series, 6-0 and 3-0, to San Diego St. on Saturday. The Rebels fell to 15-25 on the season and 1-5 in Mountain West Conference play. The Aztecs improved to 21-10 overall and 4-2 in league competition. UNLV will travel to Cedar City, Utah to take on Southern Utah (4-31) in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday, April 11.

Racheal Goodpaster batted 1.000 in game one going 3 for 3 with a double in the 2nd inning. Nicole Miller and Melissa Inouye also produced hits in the losing effort. Sandra Durazo of San Diego St. gave up only five hits and held the Rebels scoreless in seven innings on the mound.

In game two, Erica Vollweiler went 3 for 4 on the day with three singles. Senior Charelle Ainslie returned back to action for the Rebels and tallied pinch hit single in the 7th inning. Nicole Truax held the Aztecs to four hits and scoreless after relieving Geney Orris in the first inning.
