LAS VEGAS - Junior shortstop Racheal Goodpaster and Senior outfielder Nicole Miller were named to the All-West Regional team, the league announced Friday. The accolade marks Goodpaster's second consecutive All-West Regional membership and Miller's first. The players were voted on by various coaches throughout the west region that cover Nevada, Utah , California, Hawai'i, New Mexico, and Colorado.
Goodpaster was named first team All-West Regional for the second straight year. The Fair Oaks, Calif. native, led the Rebels in every offensive category this season. She broke the single-season home run record by knocking out 17 home runs and ranked fifth in the nation with a 0.30 home run average.
In conference play, Goodpaster placed fifth in batting average (.391), second in slugging percentage (.781), sixth in runs scored with 18, fourth in RBI with 18, tied for first with 7 home runs, and led the league with 58 total bases. She was named MWC Player of the Week for February 15 and was voted to her second consecutive All-MWC team.
Miller, the team's MVP, finished her career with a second team All-West Regional membership. She started every game for the Rebels this season and earned a spot on the All-MWC team for a second straight year. She batted .324, tallied 60 hits in 185 at-bats, totaled 25 runs, eight doubles, six home runs, and knocked in 35 RBI.
In the Mountain West, the Corona, Calif. native ranked second with a .441 batting average, second in on-base percentage (.512), second with 30 hits, and fifth with 68 at-bats.
