LAS VEGAS - Four UNLV coaches will speak at the 2001 Super Clinic for Sport Performance and Track and Field Coaching, offered by the UNLV Department for Continuing Education on Friday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 6 at the Lied Auditorium on the UNLV campus.
UNLV football head coach John Robinson will deliver the kickoff address on Friday at 4:00 p.m. on his coaching philosophy and experiences.
UNLV track and field head coach Karen Dennis will speak about the future of track and field in the U.S. later that evening, while track and field assistant coaches Mary Shea and Dr. Qingyi Zheng will conduct clinics on Saturday on endurance training and field-event coaching, their respective specialties.
Among others scheduled to speak at the clinic are Oklahoma track and field head coach Jill Lancaster, USA Track & Field representative Barbara Chambers and Silverado High School coach David Jones.
The clinic is offered to train track and field coaches as well as other athletic professionals and educators, and can also be taken for undergraduate class credit through the Department for Continuing Education. This opportunity is available to the general public. The fee is $30 for the clinic and $104 ($30 fee plus $74 credit fee) for one undergraduate credit.
