Rebels Take Too Many Strokes

ROCKY FACE, Ga. - The UNLV men's golf team is in 14th place after shooting 18-over par in the first round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate on Friday.

Georgia Tech, hosting the tourney, leads at eight-under par. North Carolina's Dustin Bray's 67 was the best score posted through 18.

UNLV was led by Clark Corbett's 74. Calvin Kupeyan finished with a 75 and freshmen Ryan Moore (77) and J.C. Deacon (80) rounded out the Rebels' scorecard. Brett Foulds' 81 was not figured in.

The Rebels continue play in the 54-hole event on Saturday and Sunday.
