COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The UNLV women's soccer team finished tied for third in the Mountain West Conference regular season standings to receive the No. 3 seed in the 2001 MWC Women's Soccer Championship to be held Nov. 7-10 at Peter Johann Memorial Field in Las Vegas.
In first round action on Wednesday, Nov. 7, the Rebels will face sixth-seeded Wyoming in Game 3 at 7 p.m. Fourth-seeded Utah and fifth-seeded San Diego State will play in Game 1 at 1 p.m., while second-seeded New Mexico and seventh-seeded Air Force follow for Game 2 at 4 p.m.
BYU, vying for its third consecutive conference title, claimed the No. 1 seed and first round bye after posting a 5-1-0 record in regular season league play. UNLV tied Utah for third-place with a 3-3-0 MWC record, but earned the higher seed after taking a 2-1 victory in head-to-head competition earlier this year against the Utes.
UNLV, the host institution, shall play in all evening sessions throughout the championship schedule. All games to be played at Peter Johann Memorial Field on the UNLV campus and match times are subject to change.
