LAS VEGAS - Linda Fr?hlich hit two free throws with 11 seconds remaining to put UNLV up by three, and Kinesha Davis hit two more with three second left to ice the Lady Rebels' 75-70 victory over New Mexico at the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday.

In a wild game marred by trouble with the arena's scoreboard and clock, the Lady Rebels (16-7, 6-5) held off the Lobos' (14-10, 5-5) late rally with solid defense and accurate shooting. UNLV led 43-37 at the break and by as many as 11 in the second half, but UNM made a solid push down the stretch, using a 12-4 run to trim the Rebels' lead to three, 60-57.

After UNLV opened the lead back up to seven, it was the Lobos who responded at the line, making six straight free throws to stay within three, 68-65, with 2:46 to play.

Fr?hlich then hit a three-pointer with 1:10 remaining that seemed to bury both New Mexico's spirit and chances, but Miranda Sanchez answered immediately with a trey to keep the Lobos alive.

With the clock winding down, UNM's Nikki Heckroth sank two free throws to pull her club within one, 71-70, but the Lobos could get no closer. Fr?hlich was fouled on the ensuing inbound play. She missed the front end of a 1-and-1, but grabbed her own rebound and was fouled again immediately afterward. From there she hit both free throws to put UNLV up by three and add the pressure to UNM.

The free throws gave Fr?hlich a game-high 32 points to go with 11 rebounds. She was also impressive defensively, tallying six block and two steals and holding New Mexico's leading scorer Jordan Adams to just two field goals on the night.

Dayna Gambill chipped in with an excellent game, as well, scoring 15 points, going 3-for-3 from three-point range, handing out eight assists and turning the ball over only once. Kinesha Davis scored 11 and Dishawn McCracklin pulled down a career-high nine rebounds.

With the win, UNLV's 500th all-time in women's hoops, the Lady Rebels surpass New Mexico for fourth place in the Mountain West Conference standings. They will enjoy a week of rest before hosting San Diego State on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 12:35 p.m. in the Thomas & Mack Center in their final regular season home appearance of the year.
