TEMPE, Ariz. - The UNLV women's tennis team defeated a ranked team for the first time in six tries this season with a 5-2 win over No. 70 Harvard at Arizona State's Whiteman Tennis Center Sunday.
The Lady Rebels, who are ranked 69th, improved to 3-5 while the Crimson fell to 1-2.
UNLV began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point. Four Lady Rebels then won their singles matches in straight sets. No. 76 Paulina Janus won 6-3, 6-1 at the top spot while No. 79 Agnieszka Abram cruised 6-0, 6-2 at the second position. Urska Radanovic at No. 4 and Amy Hadziosmanovic at No. 6 were the other UNLV winners.
The Lady Rebels are off until hosting Nevada, Reno on March 7.
