LAS VEGAS - All three UNLV seniors closed out their home careers with singles victories to lead the Rebels to a 5-2 win over former WAC-rival Tulsa at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Sunday.

UNLV, which is ranked 37th, improved to 9-6 overall and finished 5-1 at home this spring. The Golden Hurricane, ranked 41st, fell to 9-8 overall.

"We dug down deep and all three seniors came up big," UNLV head coach Dr. Larry Easley said. "It was a great senior day with all three winning to help us beat a good Tulsa team."

The day opened with UNLV escaping with the doubles point by taking the No. 3 match and then eking out a win at the top position, 9-7.

Moving to singles play, Rebel Artin Tafazoli quickly won his match at No. 5 to give UNLV a 2-0 lead. The remaining five matches, however, went to three sets. Zivkovic, ranked 61st, rallied at the No. 1 position to win 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 over Pawel Sebastyanski. Tulsa then drew closer with a three-set rally of its own at No. 6 to make the score 3-1.

Despite being down two breaks in the deciding set, Skorin clinched things at the fourth position by overcoming Alejandro Tejerina, 6-7, 6-4, 7-5. Erez then won his marathon match, 5-7, 6-2, 7-6, over Shri Sudhakara at No. 3. Tulsa finished things by pulling out the win on the second court as 54th-ranked Dane McGregor nipped Thomas Schneiter 6-1, 2-6, 7-6.

The Rebels, who have defeated four ranked teams in the last two weeks, now prepare to play five straight matches vs. Mountain West Conference teams. UNLV will play Utah on Friday in San Diego before taking on BYU the following day and then vs. host San Diego State on Sunday.
