Storyline: UNLV track and field junior sprinter Michele Davis will be the Rebels' lone representative at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. Competition is scheduled for Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March, 10.
The 200 Meters: Davis will compete in the 200 meters only, with prelims scheduled for 4:50 p.m. PT and finals set for 6:20 p.m. PT. Her declared time of 23.59 ranks her ninth of the 17 athletes competing in the 200. LSU's Muna Lee boasts the top qualifying time in the field, clocking 23.04. Davis' personal best in the 200 came at last year's NCAA Outdoor Championships where she posted a 23.14.
Michele Davis: Davis finished fourth in the 200 and seventh in the 400 at last year's NCAA Outdoor Championships, but has never competed at the national indoor meet. She was named the Mountain West Conference's Athlete of the Year after winning a league-record three individual titles in the 60, 200 and 400 meters, and is the squad's only current All-American. She has not lost a race or heat in the 200 this season, through four competitions.
Results: Results will be available following Friday's competition and posted on the world wide web at www.unlvrebels.com.
