Cowgirls Left In Dust

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 62nd-ranked UNLV women's tennis team lost only one of nine matches in defeating unranked league rival Wyoming 6-1 on the campus of Colorado State Sunday.

The Lady Rebels improved to 7-10 overall and 3-2 in the Mountain West Conference while the Cowgirls fell to 4-12 and 0-5.

UNLV began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point. In singles play, Agnieszka Abram, Marianne Bakken, Britta Gabl and Amy Hadziosmanovic all won in straight sets while Urska Radanovic won a tiebreaker third set, 14-12.

Wyoming avoided the shutout when Jenny Bowman upset 87th-ranked Lady Rebel Paulina Janus, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4, at the top position.

Next up for UNLV is the season's final home match, vs. Fresno State on Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m.
