EUGENE, Ore. - UNLV senior distance runner Katie Barto concluded her season on Thursday after finishing 10th in her preliminary heat of the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Barto finished her race in 4:41.09, failing to claim one of the coveted 12 berths in Saturday's final. The top four from each heat plus the next four fastest times advanced to the final.

Stanford's Sally Glynn clocked the best preliminary time, running 4:17.22.

A native of Henderson and a graduate of Green Valley High School, Barto was the Rebels' last athlete competing in the 2000-01 season. She finished 21st overall by time.
