Women's Tennis Struggles In Quarters

TEMPE, Ariz. - The UNLV women's tennis team dropped all of its quarterfinal matches at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational at the Whiteman Tennis Center on Saturday.

Paulina Janus, ranked No. 79 in the nation, fell to the tournament's top seeded player, Adria Engel of Arizona State, 6-1, 2-6, 6-2.

Gyorgyi Zsiros, ranked No. 76 in the nation, lost her quarterfinal match 6-3, 6-3 to Arizona State's Dora Krstulovic.

Agnieszka Abram advanced in the quarterfinal consolation bracket, defeating Arizona State's Megan Yeats 7-6 (3), 6-3, but dropped her semifinal match to Arizona State's Lauren Colallilo 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4).

UNLV also lost its only doubles match of the day, as the team of Abram and Janus lost to the tournament's second-seeded team of Jacobs and Scheldt of Cal 9-8 (6).
