LAS VEGAS - Former UNLV wide receiver Andrew Dubiellak became the latest Rebel to be picked up by a professional team when he was selected by the Edmonton Eskimos in the annual Canadian Football League Draft.
Dubiellak, a native of Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada, was the 51st player taken as part of Thursday's sixth round. He was one 28 players chosen from college programs in the United States. Former Wyoming receiver Brock Ralph, who is also Canadian, was the only other player taken from a Mountain West Conference school.
Dubiellak (6-4, 185) walked on to the Rebels in 1999 after playing one season at Allan Hancock College. He earned his first letter by playing on special teams in 2000 and worked his way into the UNLV receiver rotation last fall. He made his one and only Division-I reception on a spectacular 26-yard touchdown grab from Kurt Nantkes at New Mexico.
UNLV saw a school-record-tying four players selected in last weekend's NFL Draft while one player, offensive tackle Brandon Bair, signed a free agent deal with the Oakland Raiders.
