SUNRIVER, Ore. - The UNLV men's golf team fired an even-par 288 at the first round of the Mountain West Conference Championship on Monday and lead the eight-team field.

The Rebels sit atop a logjam at the top of the leaderboard. They have a three-stroke edge over BYU after receiving solid play throughout the lineup and are just five strokes ahead of San Diego State, in fifth place. The Aztecs' Mark Warman is the first-round individual leader, covering the par-72 Crosswater Course at Sunriver Resort in just 68 swings.

UNLV senior Clark Corbett sits just three shots behind Warman and is tied for third after a one-under 71.

Freshmen Ryan Moore and J.C. Deacon also rank in the top 10, tying for fifth after a par round.

Brandon Askew's 73 rounded out UNLV's first-round scoring and landed him in a tie for 12th place, while Brien Davis sits in a tie for 23rd after shooting 75.

Tuesday's second-round play will begin at 9:00 a.m. PDT.
