Paradise Found For UNLV Foursome

Jan. 24, 2003

LAS VEGAS - Four former UNLV players are expected to compete in college football's newest postseason all-star game -- Saturday's Second Annual Paradise Bowl in St. George, Utah.

All-Mountain West Conference running back Joe Haro, who finished fourth on UNLV's career rushing list with 2,013 yards, will be joined by teammates tight end DeJhown Mandley, offensive lineman Keith Kincaid and defensive back Jamal Wynn.

The game will take place at Dixie College's Hansen Stadium and is scheduled to be televised throughout the country on a live or tape-delayed basis by Fox Sports Net. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. PST.

Unlike the inaugural game, which pitted players from throughout the West against each other, the teams this year feature the Western All-Stars vs. the Midwestern All-Stars. Players from schools such as Notre Dame, Purdue, Kansas State, Michigan and Oklahoma State will help make up the Midwestern All-Stars, who will be coached by a staff that includes former UNLV passing coordinator and current head coach of the NFL Europe Scottish Claymores, Gene Dahlquist.

Last year's game, which included seven Rebels, saw the Utah/Colorado All-Stars outlast the West All-Stars 33-30 in double overtime.
