BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Four Rebels crammed into the top 20 after 36 holes of play at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate on Monday and the UNLV men's golf team is just three strokes out of the lead at the par-71, 6,958-yard Old Overton Course.
With an 11-under-par morning, UNLV (273-275--548) shared the team lead with Georgia (273-274--547) through 18 holes. The Rebels then played the day's second round with a respectable 275 to move to 20-under, but still slipped to fourth place.
Oklahoma State (277-268--545) was the team on the move, shooting a daily best 16-under-par in the second round. The Cowboys ended the day at 23-under, sharing the lead with Wake Forest (275-270--545).
Two other teams - Augusta State (281-269--550) and Clemson (282-269--551) pack into a crowded top six.
