SAN DIEGO - The UNLV volleyball team's Jekyll and Hyde season continues as the Rebels fall to 1-8 in road matches with a 3-1 (25-30, 30-24, 21-30, 16-30) loss to San Diego State on Friday night. The Rebels are 6-1 at home this season, but continue to struggle away from the friendly confines of the Cox Pavilion.
With the loss, the Rebels fall to 9-11 on the season, 2-6 in Mountain West Conference play. The Aztecs improve to 13-10, 4-4 in league play.
Patricia Assuncao and Sheila Ocasio-Clemente gave UNLV 14 kills each. Ocasio-Clemente also finished two digs and five blocks.
Leiana Oswald added 13 kills and five blocks, while Michelle Banks put up seven kills and eight digs.
Nina Franchini led the team with 11 digs.
San Diego State was led by Aspen McParland's 13 kills and nine digs.
UNLV takes the rest of the weekend off and prepares for a Tuesday night match with Nevada, Reno.
