Recap?|? Final Stats?|? Notes

UNLV HEAD COACH John Robinson

ON THE GAME
"This is a very difficult defeat for us. It was a hard-fought game, but we didn't do the things that we needed to do to win."

"Obviously, we didn't make the plays at the end. It was a back and forth game. At times, both teams were moving the ball on offense and at times neither team could do much of anything."

ON BYU'S GAME-TYING DRIVE
"During the long drive at the end of the game I keep thinking we would make a play but we didn't get in done. We mixed up our defensive package and got hurt on an in-breaking pattern."

ON UNLV'S OFFENSIVE STRUGGLES
"We are not playing very well on offense. There is no question that we are struggling."

"We really wanted to win this game."

BYU HEAD COACH GARY CROWTON

"It was just a big win for us, and it really feels good right now. We made a lot of errors today, there were too many fumbles and interceptions, but we kept fighting. This is a good team, and I think we're now moving in the right direction."

ON WHETHER BYU FOCUSES ON OVERTIME SITUATIONS IN PRACTICE
"We practice our red zone plays just as much as anything else we do in practice during the week. There is always a chance in every game you play for overtime, so its something we should be ready for, and we looked ready tonight, I was happy with all our plays in overtime on both offense and defense."

ON THE SCORING DRIVE AT THE END OF THE FOURTH TO FORCE OVERTIME
"When they scored, we knew we had four downs to get the tying score. We moved the ball very well the whole game, but we just made too many mistakes or turned over the ball. During the final drive in the fourth quarter, we kept our poise, we knew we could do it, and we did."

ON THE PLAY OF QUARTERBACK MATT BERRY
"He made the plays he needed to today, and that helped his confidence grow throughout the game. He spread the ball well, and looked great in running the last drive to send the game to overtime."

ON RUNNING THE NO-HUDDLE OFFENSE
"We as a staff decided to run the no-huddle for the game. We haven't used it before since our players were young, but I fell that Matt (Berry) was ready for it for this game."

BYU QUARTERBACK MATT BERRY

ON THE TYING DRIVE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER
"We didn't have any special set plays set, we just knew we had to get it done on that last drive. We just played our offense, and it worked."

ON RUNNING THE NO-HUDDLE
"We used the no-huddle to change things up for us, and the guys were really excited to run it today. And with us running the no-huddle, UNLV wasn't able to make defensive changes quickly to adjust."
