ROCKY FACE, Ga. - The UNLV men's golf team shot a second-round 298 and slipped from second place to 10th at the Carpet Capital Collegiate on Saturday.

The Rebels added four strokes to their first-round total on a day when half of the 18-team field shot even par or better at the par-72, 7,010-yard Farm Golf Course.

Clemson retained the team lead, shooting a nine-under 279 on Saturday to move to eight under for the tourney. Texas' Jason Hartwick took the individual lead at eight under after shooting 65.

Leading the way for the Rebels was Travis Whisman (72-73-145), who ended the day tied for 24th. JC Deacon (74-74-148) and Ryan Moore (75-74-149) both chipped in with 74s, and Ryan Keeney (73-77-150) and Sam Hunt (77-77-154) tossed in matching 77s.

The Rebels will begin final-round play at 7:30 a.m. PDT.
