LAS VEGAS - Fourteen members of the UNLV women's indoor track team will compete at the upcoming Bill Cosby Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Reno.
The meet, hosted annually by intrastate rival Nevada, Reno, will include men's and women's college and club teams from up-and-down the West Coast. Top Rebel performances should be seen from senior high jump specialist Tianika Sharrieff (Euless, Texas) and sophomore hurdler Brigitte Ladouceur (Cayenne, French Guiana).
"Our indoor meets have been tune-ups to get our athletes pumped up athletically for the outdoor season," UNLV coach Barbara Ferrell-Edmonson said. "Everyone is doing well and looking toward the bigger picture in the spring."
This will mark the last indoor competition for the Rebels prior to the 2003 Mountain West Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships to be held on Feb. 27-March 1 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Events at the Bill Cosby Track in the Reno Livestock and Events Center will begin at 8 a.m. Meet results will be posted on www.nevadawolfpack.com.
