Victory Earns Moore Top-10 Ranking

UNLV sophomore All-American Ryan Moore climbed to ninth in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings this week after his one-stroke victory at the Toyota Men's Collegiate Championship at Southern Highlands Golf Club last weekend.

Ninth marks the highest the Puyallup, Wash., native has been ranked as a collegian. Moore is bound for The Masters next month in Augusta, Ga.

The Rebels also earned some recognition as a team, reclaiming the No. 2 slot in the poll. UNLV was ranked just behind Clemson for most of the fall before dipping to No. 5 after the winter break. However, last weekend's second-place finish has lifted the Rebels back into the No. 2 spot.

Other Rebels ranked in the top 100 were Brien Davis (60th), JC Deacon (81st) and Travis Whisman (94th).

The UNLV women's golf team also moved in the polls, climbing three spots to No. 32 after a fifth-place finish at the Spartan Invitational. Freshman Sunny Oh ranked 84th individually.
