LAS VEGAS - The second-ranked Stanford women's tennis team did not lose a set en route to a 7-0 whitewashing of No. 33 UNLV at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Tuesday.
The Lady Rebels, who were playing their final non-conference match of the regular season, fell to 11-3 overall while the Cardinal improved to 11-1.
Stanford, which featured five ranked singles players and two ranked doubles teams, began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point.
In singles play, UNLV senior Paulina Janus retired after three games because of injury in the first set, losing to No. 7 Amber Liu at the top spot.
The closest any Lady Rebel came to winning a set was at court three where Tracie Chong lost to No. 38 Erin Burdette 7-6, 6-2.
UNLV returns to Mountain West Conference play by hosting three opponents this weekend, beginning with San Diego State on Friday at 2 p.m.
