Box Score
RENO, Nev. - Sophomore midfielder Angie Inzana scored the only goal of the game to lift UNLV to a 1-0 win over in-state rival Nevada, Reno, in women's collegiate soccer action on Friday night in Reno. The Rebels, who move to 3-0 all-time against UNR, improved to 5-3 on the season, while the Wolf Pack fell to 2-4, and lost at home for the first time this season.
It was a defensive showing for the majority of the game, until Inzana's score in the 75th minute. She collected a pass from Nickie Olson and sent it past Wolf Pack goalie Megan Tarpenning for the 1-0 UNLV advantage. Despite outshooting the Rebels 16-7 for the game, UNR could not find the back of the net, and the Rebels would claim the victory.
Desiree Kelly started in goal for the Rebels, and posted three saves over the first 56:12 before colliding with a Nevada, Reno player and leaving the game. Jenna Huff finished the game in goal for UNLV, and also posted three saves while saving the shutout.
UNLV returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 21, with a home contest against Northern Arizona at 4 p.m. at Peter Johann Memorial Field.
